Thai PM to Attend 81st UN General Assembly, Deepening Ties with Japan & UK 20-27 September 2026

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will embark on a diplomatic and economic mission from 20–27 September 2026, taking in Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The centerpiece of the trip is Thailand's participation in the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) in New York, where he will be joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow and Minister of Digital Economy and Society Chaichanok Chidchob.

Beyond the UN engagements, the trip is designed to deepen Thailand's cooperation with international partners across foreign affairs, trade, investment, and digital technology. Executives from the Thai Capital Market Business Council and the Stock Exchange of Thailand will also join the delegation, leading investment roadshows in New York and London to showcase Thailand's capital market potential and strengthen ties with global investors and financial institutions.

Japan (21 September)
The journey begins in Japan, where the Premier will meet and encourage Thai athletes competing in the 20th Asian Games before chairing a gathering of the Thai community there.

New York (22–24 September)
He then travels to New York, starting with a visit to Google's offices on 23 September for talks with Ruth Porat, President and Chief Investment Officer of Alphabet and Google. At UN Headquarters, he will take part in the opening ceremony and General Debate, alongside a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders — including Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, the Prime Ministers of Bhutan, Armenia and Bangladesh, and the UN Secretary-General. On 24 September, he is scheduled to deliver Thailand's national statement during the General Debate.

London (25 September)
From New York, the Prime Minister travels to London, accompanied by Stock Exchange of Thailand executives for another leg of the capital market roadshow. Working with UBS Group AG, he will meet institutional investors to present Thailand's economic outlook and investment landscape, aiming to boost investor confidence, broaden Thailand's foreign investor base, and connect the Thai capital market with major global financial hubs. He is also expected to meet representatives of leading UK businesses, including Virgin Atlantic and Rolls-Royce, to explore new business and investment opportunities and strengthen private-sector ties.

Three cities, one goal: putting Thailand's economy and capital markets on the world's radar.
