Thai PM Courts U.S. Tech and Financial Giants in New York, Positioning Thailand as a Long-Term Partner

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is visiting New York City to attend the 81st UN General Assembly, where he is scheduled to deliver a national statement on 24 September highlighting Thailand's economic vision, regional leadership in ASEAN, and readiness to join the OECD.

Alongside the UN meetings, he also held high-level discussions with senior executives from Bank of America, Microsoft, and PIMCO, securing commitments from major U.S. investors for a long-term partnership in future technologies and sustainability rather than just financial investment.

Bank of America praised the Thai government’s policies and announced plans to visit the country next month. At the same time, Microsoft focused on strengthening cooperation in digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), digital infrastructure, workforce skills development, and cybersecurity, and expressed gratitude for Microsoft's support for Thailand's OECD membership bid.

The Prime Minister also met with PIMCO representatives to exchange views on global economic and financial trends, which will help shape Thailand’s long-term investment policies.

These discussions with the three leading institutions signal Thailand's readiness to welcome high-quality capital to support economic growth, infrastructure development, and high-potential industries.

Ultimately, Thailand is not merely seeking financial investment, but true partners to co-create the economy of the future.
