Thai Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Anutin Charnvirakul delivered a general debate address at the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations in New York under the theme “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All.”

Marking the 80th anniversary of the UN, Thailand urged for organizational reforms to ensure equal voices for all nations and emphasized that true peace requires collaborative efforts to build sustainable security and prosperity.

He also addressed global conflicts, including Palestine, and noted that the Thailand-Cambodia border issue is being addressed through bilateral negotiations, clarifying that procedures under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) pertain solely to maritime boundary demarcation, while reaffirming Thailand's support for peacebuilding and national reconciliation in Myanmar.

The Prime Minister highlighted Thailand's cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to combat narcotics and online crime, which pose serious cross-border threats. He concluded by stressing a crucial stance: “A rules-based international order and the participation of all countries in shaping our shared future are essential conditions for restoring trust,” urging all nations to foster trust and translate cooperation into concrete outcomes that benefit the people.

Thailand’s visionary address resonated deeply with the assembly, earning a resounding ovation and warm congratulations from delegates across all nationalities.
