Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a meeting of the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Headquarters on 2 October 2026 to monitor flood relief operations. He reaffirmed that the overall flood situation is beginning to improve, as agencies step up their work in critical areas to provide thorough assistance to affected citizens.
The Premier stressed that all agencies must communicate and assess the situation using a single, integrated set of data. This will keep operations unified, reduce discrepancies and anxiety, and prevent public confusion.
With the Thai Meteorological Department forecasting heavy rainfall across several regions on 4-5 October, he also instructed provincial governors and all agencies to prepare comprehensive response measures. These include full readiness in personnel, equipment, food, temporary shelters, essential supplies, and contingency plans, so that timely help can reach the public.
