Udon Thani Airport 'MOC Market' Connects Community Businesses with Travelers

Travelers passing through Udon Thani Airport can now take a piece of Isan home with them!

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun visited the MOC Market (organized by Thailand's Ministry of Commerce) during the Mobile Cabinet Meeting in Udon Thani. The market runs until 5 November 2026.

The airport serves as a showcase for community identity, connecting travelers directly with local OTOP products, handcrafted silk, and souvenirs.

Free fruit boxes: 1,000 boxes are being given out, designed to fit in carry-on or checked luggage.

● Impact so far (October 2025 to September 2026):
✅ 22 events across Udon Thani, Nong Khai, and Nong Bua Lamphu
✅ 256 local entrepreneurs supported
✅ THB 9,248,930 (~USD 270,000) in sales

● Coming in 2027: MOC Market expands to four northeastern provinces, with three events in each, for 12 events in total:
◇ Udon Thani
◇ Nong Khai
◇ Nong Bua Lamphu
◇ Bueng Kan

This effort helps drive the local economy by connecting agricultural and community products directly with tourist spending. Beyond increasing income for local farmers and business owners, it also promotes regional identity and culture to a wider audience.

So, next time you're flying through Udon Thani and the other three northeastern provinces, come early, browse, and bring home something special!
