Train Service Connecting Thailand and Laos to Begin on July 19

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) announced on July 3 that a new international train service connecting Bangkok and Vientiane will begin on July 19.

This new international train extends from the Bangkok-Nong Khai route. The entire trip from Bangkok to Vientiane will take approximately 12 hours. The first scheduled connecting train will depart from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station in Bangkok at 9:25 p.m. on July 19 and will arrive in Vientiane at 9:05 a.m. on July 20.

An official said that upon arrival at their destination, travelers can use public transport services to travel to downtown Vientiane, which is 7-9 kilometers away. They can also board the high-speed Laos-China railway at Vientiane Railway Station to travel to other provinces in Laos or to China.
