Thailand hosts "Cosplay Art Festival 2024" to Boost Thai Soft Power

The Ministry of Culture, Thailand, in partnership with Show Unlimited, is set to host the "Cosplay Art Festival 2024." This event aims to strengthen soft power, add value, and promote the gaming industry while advancing the cosplay sector to support the country's economic stability.

Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Culture, noted that the Ministry is focused on transforming the gaming industry into a significant soft power asset. The industry is expected to boost revenue, stimulate economic growth, and enhance Thailand's international reputation. This initiative supports the National Soft Power Strategy Committee’s policies under the Thailand Creative Culture Agency (THACCA). Given its rapid growth and potential, the gaming sector is a crucial economic driver.

The collaboration with Show Unlimited will offer a platform for gamers and cosplay enthusiasts, both locally and globally, to create and showcase diverse art forms.

The festival will include cosplay contests, exhibitions, character design showcases, and demonstrations of new gaming technologies. It will also feature panel discussions and workshops with industry experts. This event provides an opportunity for Thai cosplayers to display their artistic talents and aims to connect the gaming and tourism sectors, thereby enhancing Thailand's image and generating revenue.

The Cosplay Art Festival 2024 will take place from July 19th to 21st at True Icon Hall, ICONSIAM.
