Lao authorities have dealt a significant blow to cybercrime in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone, arresting 771 suspects and seizing a large amount of electronic equipment. The operation targeted a transnational scam gang operating in the area, involving individuals from 15 Asian and African countries.

This latest crackdown follows a similar operation earlier this month, where Vietnamese and Lao police apprehended 155 Vietnamese nationals involved in a large-scale cyber fraud and human trafficking ring.

The ongoing efforts to combat cybercrime in Laos demonstrate the country's commitment to maintaining social order, security, and preventing illegal activities from thriving within its borders.
