Thailand is dedicated to tackling PM2.5 pollution to safeguard public health and improve air quality. Key strategies focus on reducing wildfire hotspots across 14 forest and agricultural zones, discouraging crop-burning practices, and implementing stricter controls on urban dust sources. Measures include enhanced vehicle emission checks and ensuring factory compliance with environmental standards.

Provincial governors will lead localized efforts, supported by improved public communication to raise awareness and address concerns. Dedicated task forces will manage PM2.5 pollution in forests and urban areas, while an Air Pollution Communication Task Force will provide clear and timely public updates.

Authorities will follow a wildfire and haze management calendar, with budget allocations secured for operations from January to May 2025. The recently established Air Pollution Coordination and Resolution Center will monitor, forecast, and coordinate responses. This integrated approach aims to mitigate health and economic impacts, ensuring cleaner air and improved well-being for the public in the coming year.
