The government has introduced the Thai Massage College under the Ministry of Public Health to professionalize Thai massage therapy and enhance its international standards. As part of Thailand’s vision to become a premier Medical and Wellness Hub, the college will operate as a division within the ministry.
Serving as a central training institution, the college will specialize in treating seven medical conditions, including myofascial pain syndrome, frozen shoulder, piriformis syndrome, and nerve-related disorders. Graduates will receive advanced certifications, boosting their credentials and expanding career opportunities both domestically and abroad.
Training will be conducted through 18 specialized Thai traditional medicine centers and 38 universities offering degrees in Thai Traditional and Integrative Medicine. The college will build upon the existing 150-hour Thai Health Massage program, introducing advanced courses for over 20,000 assistant Thai traditional medical practitioners and 1,000 certified provincial-level massage instructors.
Academic development, service quality, and certification standards will be overseen by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine. Additionally, the college will foster international academic exchange and collaboration to strengthen Thai massage’s global presence.
Graduates can expect greater earning potential while elevating the credibility of Thai massage therapy worldwide. Registration is now open via the college’s official Facebook page.
