Thailand Participates in ASEAN-EU Conference to Advance Strategic Partnership for Tangible Benefits

On 22 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with the European Union (EU) in Manila, the Philippines. Both sides supported holding a Commemorative Summit for the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-EU relations in 2027 and upgrading ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Thailand underscored the importance of upholding the rules-based international order and driving practical cooperation to benefit the public, including expediting the ASEAN-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), advancing the green transition, and combating online scams. Furthermore, Thailand reaffirmed its vital role as Myanmar’s neighbor in promoting constructive engagement between ASEAN and Myanmar through a calibrated approach to foster long-term regional stability.
