Religious Rites Performed by Five Faiths to Mark HM the King’s 72nd Birthday

Representatives from five major religions, namely Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Brahmanism-Hinduism, and Sikhism, are scheduled to perform religious ceremonies as a tribute-paying function for His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X).

The religious rites will be organized by the Government, through the Ministry of Culture, on 25 July 2024 for the “Celebrations on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 28th July 2024.”

The ceremonies will take place at Phakdi Bodin Building, Government House, in Bangkok. Similar ceremonies will also be held in all provinces across the country during July.

Various provinces and agencies have also organized mass ordination programs as a tribute to His Majesty the King in celebration of His Majesty’s sixth cycle, or 72nd, birthday anniversary this year.

Meanwhile, the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture, will organize an International Ramayana Festival in honor of His Majesty the King on this auspicious occasion, between 12 and 15 July at the Thailand Cultural Center in Bangkok.

Other countries, namely Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, and India will also send cultural troupes to participate in the upcoming International Ramayana Festival in Thailand.
