The Doi Kham Royal Project has been carried out for 30 years now, and it has played an important part in sustainable development through its operation as a “social business,” under the concept of “agriculture for the community.”
On the occasion of the sixth-cycle (72nd) birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X) this year, Doi Kham Food Products Company is holding an exhibition on the 30th years of Doi Kham and sustainable development.
Apart from honoring His Majesty the King on this special occasion, the exhibition is also meant to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Doi Kham Food Products Company, which was established in 1994.
Doi Kham had been founded as part of the Royal Project, which came into being at the initiative of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX) in 1969, when the King visited hilltribe villagers in Chiang Mai Province and began to develop and promote the processing of agricultural products for sustainable development.
His Majesty King Rama X has been carrying forward the leadership and legacy of King Rama IX on the royal approach to sustainable development.
The exhibition on the 30th years of Doi Kham and sustainable development is taking place at the Ratchathewi station of the BTS Skytrain, in Bangkok, for a period of one year. It is divided into three zones, featuring the history of Doi Kham, its development, and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
A Doi Kham shop has also been opened at the BTS Ratchathewi station, known also as “Doi Kham Station.” It includes many products under the Doi Kham brand name, in response to the demand of consumers, especially during rush hours.
