According to the Joint Press Center on the Thailand–Cambodia Border Situation, Thailand has reaffirmed that it has no intention to escalate the situation, stressing that all actions taken are grounded firmly in international law and guided by humanitarian principles.
The Joint Press Center stated that Thailand’s measures are aimed solely at protecting national sovereignty and reducing security threats, while ensuring that impacts on civilians and the wider region are kept to an absolute minimum.
Thailand also underscored its strict adherence to international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982, which places paramount importance on the freedom of navigation.
The Center emphasized that Thailand’s actions are not intended to adversely affect international trade, transportation, or global supply chains, and that the country remains committed to regional stability and the safety of civilian population.
Thailand continues to act responsibly, in line with international legal frameworks, while seeking to prevent escalation and maintain peace in the region.
