The Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Bangkok was granted access by Thai authorities to three provinces affected by the Thailand-Cambodia border situation, namely Sa Kaeo, Buri Ram, and Si Sa Ket.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs accompanied the ICRC delegation as coordinators and observers on its second field visit to the three border provinces.
The purpose of the visit, from 20 to 23 January 2026, was to collect information on damage resulting from the hostilities, particularly those affecting civilians and civilian facilities, as well as the humanitarian impact on the local communities.
During the visit, the ICRC delegation received briefings and exchanged views with relevant government agencies regarding the sequence of events, related operations, and the impacts of the hostilities.
The delegation subsequently conducted field visits to survey and collect information on damage to civilian properties, as well as interviewing affected civilians and eyewitnesses, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
