Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has assigned Minister of Defense General Natthaphon Narkphanit as head of the Thai delegation to preside over the handover ceremony of relief supplies in human assistance from China.
Rear Admiral Surasant Kongsiri, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense, stated that the handover ceremony took place at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan Province on Friday, 30 January 2026, at 13.45 hr, with Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei representing the Chinese government.
China expressed its intention to support Thailand with relief supplies to ease the hardships of the residents affected by the Thailand-Cambodia border situation. The essential supplies, valued at 10 million yuan (over 45 million baht), had been scheduled to be transported to Thailand via two chartered commercial flights.
The first shipment, delivered on flight CK277 on Friday, 30 January 2026, includes 10,000 blankets, 400 folding beds, 4,000 mosquito nets, 8,000 electric fans, and 15,000 winter jackets, packed into a total of 8,888 boxes.
The second shipment will be sent to Thailand on flight CK273 on Sunday, 1 February 2026. It will include 3,600 folding beds, 4,000 mattresses, 36,000 mosquito nets and 4,900 household tool kits, packed into a total of 3,150 boxes.
The Thai government expressed its deep gratitude to the Chinese government for the humanitarian assistance. It will assign the Ministry of Interior, through the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, to distribute the relief supplies to the provinces affected by fighting along the Thai-Cambodian border.
