Situation Along the Thai- Cambodian Border

The Joint Information Center on the Thailand-Cambodia Situation wishes to clarify to

the public and the international community regarding allegations contained in an official document from the Cambodian Ministry of Defence dated 20 February 2026, as follows:

Thailand affirms that its forces are adhering strictly to the Joint Statement of the General Border Committee (GBC) meeting on 27 December 2025, particularly in relation to the provisions regarding the ceasefire and the avoidance of provocations.

Following comprehensive verification and fact-checking through the established chain of command and all relevant operational units, the Thai side has found no substantiated evidence

that the Royal Thai Armed Forces conducted the actions as alleged. Furthermore, the Royal Thai Armed Forces continue to maintain a defensive position, exercise maximum restraint and adhere to the principle of not escalating tensions.

Thailand is committed to the principles of peaceful resolution, international law,

and responsibility for the safety of the people of both countries. It supports resolving issues through existing bilateral mechanisms, namely the General Border Committee (GBC), the Regional Border Committee (RBC), and the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC), which are appropriate channels

for clarifying the facts and reducing misunderstandings.

Thailand is ready to cooperate in a transparent and constructive manner to maintain peace, stability and trust along the border. This is beneficial to the people of both countries and the region as a whole.

The Joint Information Center of the Thailand-Cambodia Situation calls on all parties

to exercise restraint, avoid disseminating information that may cause misunderstanding, and jointly support an atmosphere of peace and good relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and

the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Thailand remains committed to peaceful coexistence based on mutual respect, the rule

of law, and international standards for lasting security and peace in the region.

Thailand categorically rejects the unfounded allegations, is strictly adhering to the ceasefire agreement, and supports verification through the appropriate bilateral mechanisms to maintain peace and stability along the border.
