Night-Time Cultural Festival in Honor of the Queen Mother

Members of the public have been invited to attend the “Night by Amazing Thailand: Threads of Silk in the Moonlight,” a night-time cultural festival in honor of the late Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

Organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the event is taking place at the Entertainment Building, Lumphini Park, in Bangkok, from 27 January to 7 February 2026, between 16.00 and 21.30 hr.

One of the highlights is the “Moonlight Concert,” featuring musical compositions by King Rama IX and royal compositions inspired by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. The concert in the form of “Jazz Meets Orchestra” brings leading artiste Koh Mr. Saxman & The Sound of Siam together with the Thai Symphony Orchestra, joined by many invited singers.

This performance blends a symphony orchestra with the khon masked drama in the form of “Khon in Jazz” for the first time. It is considered a new dimension of the combination between contemporary music and traditional Thai art.

Khon is a form of Thai dramatic art that has its own unique identity. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit gave support for the revival of the khon masked drama, which was falling into decline. Her Majesty directed her patronage toward the preservation of khon and also instructed the creation of khon costumes and accessories in accordance with the ancient style, while developing khon performances to be more modern, suitable for the new era and to be more attractive to the public.

The night-time cultural festival also features the program “Immersive Box,” which is a multimedia virtual exhibition, presenting Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s work on folk arts and crafts, under the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques (SUPPORT Foundation), especially her promotion of Thai silk, which has beccome recognized internationally.

Her Majesty established the SUPPORT Foundation under her patronage in 1976 and dedicated her time and energy to promoting folk arts and crafts and preserving them as Thailand’s cultural heritage.
