A public relations plan has been established to provide the public, both in Thailand and abroad, with accurate and comprehensive information regarding the Royal Cremation Ceremony for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Supamas Isarabhakdi, in her capacity as Chairperson of the Committee on Public Relations for the Royal Cremation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, chaired a committee meeting on 21 September 2026 at Government House.

Director-General of the Government Public Relations Department (PRD) Sudruetai Lertkasem, serving as member and secretary of the committee, attended the meeting alongside representatives from relevant agencies.

Ms. Supamas stated that the meeting discussed the public relations plan spanning from October to December 2026, extending through the conclusion of the Royal Cremation Ceremony. The meeting also acknowledged the schedule for the ceremony, as conveyed to the committee by the Bureau of the Royal Household.

The ceremony will take place from 15 to 19 December 2026, with the following schedule: 

Tuesday, 15 December 2026:

- Royal merit-making ceremony at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in preparation for moving the Royal Urn to the Royal Crematorium at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground.

Wednesday, 16 December 2026:

- The Royal Urn is moved from Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall to the Royal Crematorium, followed by the Royal Cremation Ceremony.

Thursday, 17 December 2026:

- Ceremony for collecting the Royal Relics and Royal Ashes, which will then be transferred to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

Friday, 18 December 2026:

- Royal merit-making ceremony for the Royal Relics at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall.

Saturday, 19 December 2026:

- The Royal Relics are transferred from Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall to be enshrined in the Heavenly Abode at Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall. The Royal Ashes are transferred to be enshrined at two temples: Wat Ratchabophit and Wat Bovoranives.

The Main Press Center (MPC) and the International Broadcast Center (IBC) will be established to facilitate operations for both domestic and international media. The Television Pool of Thailand will broadcast the events live.

Ms. Supamas emphasized the profound significance of the Royal Cremation Ceremony and called on all sectors to work closely together as a tribute to the Queen Mother's immeasurable benevolence, showcase the magnificence of Thai arts, culture, and heritage to a global audience, and ensure the ceremony is conducted with the highest honor accorded to the Queen Mother.
