According to the Ministry of Commerce's report on tapioca exports from January to 17 February 2025, Thailand exported 871,575 tons of tapioca to China, valued at 5.33 billion baht (158 million US dollars). This resulted from the Thai delegation’s visit to Shanghai and Chengdu earlier this year to expand Thai tapioca markets.

Since the Chinese New Year, the demand for Thai tapioca has increased continually, showing good prospects for Thai exports and creating confidence among the farmers. Thailand has long been well-known for the quality of its tapioca, which also has high nutritional value and can be used as an effective raw material in the animal feed industry.
