Their Majesties the King and Queen on 28 April 2025 concluded their four-day State Visit to the Kingdom of Bhutan and arrived at the Military Air Terminal, Don Mueang, in Bangkok on the same day.
During the fourth and last day of the State Visit on 28 April, Their Majesties paid homage to the Shakyamuni Buddha image and observed activities at the Royal College, as well as attending an exhibition on the development of Gelephu Mindfulness City, a key project of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, who is a certified military and civilian pilot, on 25 April flew the royal aircraft from Thailand to Bhutan, with Her Majesty Queen Sutidha Bajrasudhabimalalakshana serving as co-pilot. As for the return journey to Thailand on 28 April, His Majesty also piloted the royal aircraft himself while Her Majesty served as the co-pilot.
The King and Queen of Bhutan saw off Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand at Paro International Airport in touching and memorable moments.
The historic State Visit was the first to a foreign country of His Majesty the King’s reign and an important milestone in the history of Thai-Bhutanese relations. It was seen as a new chapter in the enduring friendship and close ties shared by the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Bhutan.
The visit also reaffirmed the bonds of friendship and opened new avenues for collaboration and cultural exchange between the two countries.
