His Majesty the King ascended the throne as King Rama X, succeeding his royal father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, who passed away on 13 October 2016. The coronation of His Majesty King Rama X was performed on 4-6 May 2019, but the most important event of the three-day ceremony was held on 4 May. Therefore, 4 May was designated Coronation Day and a public holiday.
His Majesty presented the First Royal Command during the Royal Coronation Ceremony: "We shall treasure, preserve, and build on our heritage and shall reign in righteousness for the great enduring good of the people.”
