Mr. Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has humbly presented Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya with the prestigious “WIPO Award for Creativity Excellence.”

The award presentation was held on 14 August 2025, in recognition of Her Royal Highness’ s creative ingenuity in intellectual property, fashion, and design, and her remarkable contributions to preserving Thai culture and tradition, as well as creating a sustainable future for local artisans and their communities.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari has played a vital role in developing and elevating Thai textiles and local handicrafts to make them better known on both the domestic and global stages. The project “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanuk, or “Fun Wearing Thai Fashion,” at the initiative of Her Royal Highness has allowed people not only to derive happiness from local Thai handicrafts but also to generate income and sustainable livelihoods for communities.

The award also demonstrates Her Royal Highness’ s invaluable efforts and inspiration in using intellectual property for community development.

The WIPO Award for Creative Excellence is a globally recognized award, presenting to outstanding individuals and organizations whose intellectual property creations have influenced sustainable social, economic and cultural development, and inspired artists, inventors, and entrepreneurs around the world.
