Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana has been conferred the honorary title of “Siri Sinlapin National Artist” by the Ministry of Culture in recognition of Her Royal Highness’ s valuable artistic works produced for the good of society and the nation.
The Ministry of Culture on 27 August 2025 announced results of the National Culture Committee’s annual selection of individuals as national artists for the year 2024. The selection aims to honor individuals who have created artistic works in various fields, benefiting society and the country as a whole.
Her Royal Highness has been honored as Siri Sinlapin National Artist in the field of Visual Arts (Painting) for her great contributions to visual arts, which are widely recognized in artistic circles. Her Royal Highness also plays an important role in preserving national identity through artistic creations.
For 2024, a total of one royal and 573 other artists were nominated for consideration as national artists. Apart from Her Royal Highness, 10 other artists were honored.
The awardees in field of Visual Arts include (1) Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangkhawatana (Painting), (2) Mr. Phong Sengking (Painting), (3) Associate Professor Wiwat Temiyaphan (Local Architecture), and (4) Mr. Somluk Pantiboon (Pottery).
The awardee in field of Literary Arts includes (1) Mr. Rewat Panpipat. The awardees in in field of Performing Arts include (1) Mr. Naruephon Duriyaphan (Thai Music - Singing), (2) Mr. Pakorn Pornphisut (Thai Dance - Khon and Lakhon), (3) Mr. Wirot Yoosawat (Thai Dance - Khon Monkey), (4) Mr. Dnu Huntrakul (Western Thai Music), (5) Major Praphatsak Chanpleng (Luk Thung Singer), and (6) Ms. Nantawan Mekyai Suwanpiyasiri (Film and Television).
The Department of Cultural Promotion, under the Ministry of Culture, will seek the permission of Their Majesties the King and Queen to grant an audience for the 2024 National Artists to receive the plaques and pins of honor, on the date and time to be graciously determined.
From 1985 to 2023, a total of 367 National Artists were honored, and with one royal and 10 other people honored in 2024, the total number will be 378.
