Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has received the role of WIPO Ambassador for Fashion and Design from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
According to a report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Her Royal Highness on 28 May 2026 arrived at the Headquarters of WIPO in Geneva, Swiss Federation, and graciously granted an audience to Mr. Daren Tang, Director General of WIPO, to present an invitation to Her Royal Highness to assume the role of WIPO Ambassador for Fashion and Design, becoming the first person to hold this position.
The role of WIPO Ambassador for Fashion and Design recognizes vision and outstanding contributions of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to the development, enhancement, and value creation of textiles and fashion design rooted in local wisdom and cultural heritage, as well as acknowledging Her Royal Highness as a role model of success whose experience and best practices can serve as a valuable reference for WIPO and its member states in fostering exchanges of knowledge and promoting innovation in the creative industries.
On the same occasion, Her Royal Highness officially opened the exhibition “JOURNEY of INSPIRATION: Empowering Community through Intellectual Property – Design and Creativity,” co-organized by the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand and WIPO, to honor and disseminate Her Royal Highness remarkable talent in promoting creativity, recognizing intellectual property, and advancing values of national arts and cultures, which are vital tools for the country’s economic development.
Her Royal Highness held discussions with the Director General of WIPO on the inspiration behind Her Royal Highness intellectual property creations, based on Thai local wisdom products and their role in improving the livelihoods and well-being of local communities.
