His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X), accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, on 28 July 2026 at 17.50 hr proceeded to the main assembly hall of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo) to perform a royal ceremony on the occasion of His Majesty’s birthday anniversary.
Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, His Royal Highness Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, and Chaokhun Phra Sineenatha Bilasakalyani.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, and Her Royal Highness Princess Aditayadornkitikhun welcomed and had an audience with Their Majesties the King and Queen at Amarin Winitchai Throne Hall in the Grand Palace.
Upon arrival at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, His Majesty the King graciously accepted the blessings offered by the Chinese and Vietnamese monks. Inside the main assembly hall, His Majesty the King lit incense and candles in veneration of the Emerald Buddha and past kings.
Then Their Majesties proceeded to Amarin Winitchai Throne Hall, where His Majesty the King received the homage of those in attendance. His Majesty graciously allowed the Royal Scribe to read the Royal Command elevating senior monks to the rank of Somdet Phra Racha Khana.
The King presented golden plaques, ecclesiastical fans, saffron robes, and the insignia of ecclesiastical rank to the newly appointed Somdet Phra Racha Khana. His Majesty also lit incense and candles to worship the Buddha image representing the birthday of King Rama IX.
The congregation of 75 monks chanted blessings on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s birthday.
