The State Visit of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X) and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana to Vietnam on 14-16 September marks a significant milestone in further strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.

Serving as the highlight of events commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Vietnam, the visit further deepens the bonds of friendship, goodwill, and growing cooperation between both countries and their peoples. Thailand and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on 6 August 1976.

His Majesty the King personally piloted the royal aircraft as Captain, with Her Majesty Queen Suthida serving as First Officer, carrying Their Majesties to Hanoi for this historic State Visit, at the invitation of Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam,

Their Majesties the King and the Queen attended an official welcoming ceremony at the National Assembly Building in Hanoi on 15 September. After the ceremony, Their Majesties had a meeting with the Vietnamese President and his spouse, Madam Ngo Phuong Ly, inside the National Assembly Building.

Their Majesties also granted audiences to Mr. Le Minh Hung, Vietnamese Prime Minister and Mr. Tran Thah Man, Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

On the same day, Their Majesties traveled by royal motorcade from the Fairmont Hanoi to Tonkin Palace, where the Vietnamese President and his spouse hosted a state banquet in honor of Their Majesties on the occasion of the State Visit. 

Previously, on the occasion of Mr. To Lam and his spouse paying an official visit to Thailand, as guests of the Thai government, Their Majesties the King and Queen granted an audience to them at Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall, Dusit Palace, on 28 May 2026.
