Bangkok Ranks 30th Out of the 100 Best Cities in the World for 2023

Bangkok ranks in 30th place out of the 100 best cities in the world to live, work, and invest, according to the latest survey by Resonance Consultancy, a leading global advisor in real estate, tourism, and economic development.

The list of the World's Best Cities 2023 ranks the cities with a population of more than a million, using a combination of statistical performance and qualitative evaluations by locals and visitors in six core categories, as follows:

1) Place: weather, safety, sights and landmarks, and outdoors;

2) Product: airport connectivity, attractions, museums, university ranking, and convention centers;

3) People: labor force participation and educational attainment;

4) Prosperity: Global 500 number, GDP per capita, income equality, and employment rate;

5) Programming: culture, nightlife, dining, and shopping;

6) Promotion: Facebook check-ins, Google search, TripAdvisor reviews, Instagram hashtags, and Google Trends.

The top 10 cities on the list include London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Dubai, Barcelona, Rome, Madrid, Singapore, and Amsterdam. Bangkok features at the 30th spot on the list. It also came second in ASEAN after Singapore.

The city of Bangkok has diverse attractions, from cultural and historical sites, to shopping malls with countless outlets selling an amazing variety of goods at a wide range of prices. It has also been known as a gastronomic paradise by many visitors, and its cosmopolitan flavor is particular evident in the vast variety of foods offered by countless restaurants.

Bangkok boasts a diverse transport system, connecting function areas and convention centers, sufficient to accommodate the waves of tourists and conventioneers. As Bangkok is the center of the economy and tourism, with a huge mass of people living and commuting, expressways, electric trains, and subways have been constructed to solve traffic problems and facilitate travel by the people.

Since its founding as the capital city in 1782, Bangkok has grown to become an important political, social, and economic center of Southeast Asia.
