Five beaches in Thailand have been voted among the most beautiful beaches in the world, according to the "Top 100 beaches on Earth 2023" ranking by the World Beach Guide website based in the United Kingdom.
On the list of the Top 100 beaches on Earth 2023, Thailand’s Koh Kradan was named the best beach destination. Koh Kradan, an island in the Andaman Sea, is located in the southern province of Trang.
Koh Kradan is one of around 40 large and small islands that form a major part of the Hat Chao Mai National Park. The website writes, “Of all these islands and islets, Koh Kradan is perhaps the most beautiful and largely unspoiled. Despite being only a couple of hours south of Phuket and even closer to Koh Phi Phi, Koh Kradan is a world apart, sharing all the natural beauty but without the crowds and noise.”
Four other Thai beaches on the list of the top 100 for 2023 include Railay in Krabi province (9th), Freedom Beach in Phuket province (18th), Laem Beach on Yao Yai Island in Phang-nga province (21st) and Tanot Bay Beach on Ko Tao of Surat Thani province (44th).
Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister and Acting Government Spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri said that Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha was pleased with the rankings of the five Thai beaches. This shows that Thailand’s beach destinations are popular among tourists.
The Prime Minister cited beaches as one of the country’s important natural resources, which have great economic potential for creating many activities to promote tourism.
Mr. Anucha said that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is strengthening the “Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters” campaign, with an emphasis on the promotion and development of high value and sustainable tourism in Thailand.
Key strategies include elevating the tourism supply and underlining the Kingdom’s 5F soft-power foundations – Food, Film, Festival, Fight, and Fashion – to offer meaningful travel experiences in Thailand.
