Thailand has set out its intention to develop itself into one of the global leaders of “soft power” to increase its economic value. It will host the event “THACCA SPLASH - Soft Power Forum,” featuring creative culture in Thailand and from all over the world.

The event is scheduled for 28-30 June 2024 at the Queen Sirkit International Convention Center in Bangkok. This forum will make the Thailand Creative Content Agency (THACCA) and the One Family, One Soft Power (OFOS) policy better known.

The Government will establish THACCA as an organization that encompasses all creative and cultural sectors, with an emphasis on soft power, to strengthen the country’s global competitiveness. The proposal to set up THACCA is expected to be forwarded to Parliament for approval in June 2024.

As for the OFOS policy, it aims to upgrade the skills of 20 million Thais from 20 million families into high-skilled creative workers. Toward this aim, Thailand is expected to earn at least four trillion baht a year and create 20 million jobs. This will sustain economic growth and make Thailand one of the world’s soft power leaders.

THACCA will drive the OFOS policy, which is intended to provide upskill and reskill training for members of all participating families, from basic to professional levels, free of charge, so that each family across the country will earn at least 200,000 baht annually.

THACCA will work with relevant agencies in promoting and supporting the 11 sectors of the soft power industry, namely (1) food, (2) sports, (3) festivals, (4) tourism, (5) music, (6) books, (7) films, (8) gaming, (9) art, (10) design, and (11) fashion. It will also encourage investment in soft power infrastructure and open up opportunities for various industries to participate in setting policies on soft power.

At the upcoming THACCA SPLASH - Soft Power Forum, there will be the THACCA Pavilion, with the following four zones:

1. Soft Power Global Power;

2. THACCA the Driving Force;

3. Potential of Thai Soft Power;

4. The Power of Us All.

Apart from the THACCA Pavilion, other parts include the SPLASH Visionary Zone, Industries Pavilion, and International Pavilion.
