Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has invited both Thais and foreigners to visit the SUPPORT and OTOP Fair 2024 being held in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on the occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday, 12 August 2024.

Mr. Anutin on 11 August 2024 presided over the opening of the fair, which is taking place at 1-3 Challenger Halls, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi province, from 10 to 18 August.

SUPPORT stands for the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Technique, which was established by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother in 1976. Among its objectives is to preserve time-honored crafts, techniques, and skills. Her Majesty has taken a particularly deep interest in arts and crafts and has set an example in the preservation of Thai arts and culture.

As for OTOP, it stands for the "One Tambon, One Product” program, launched by the Government in 2001, aimed at building up small enterprises in communities and encouraging the people to manufacture local products using their homegrown skills and expertise.

The SUPPORT and OTOP Fair 2024 is held under the concept of “World Craft and Creative Wisdom.” SUPPORT handicrafts and OTOP products from all parts of Thailand are put on display and on sale at the fair during the nine-day period, from 10.00 to 21.00 hr.

Apart from an exhibition of Thai textiles, there are also exhibitions in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on the occasion of Her Majesty’s 92nd birthday anniversary, 12 August 2024, and in honor of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X) on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty's 72nd birthday anniversary, 28 July 2024.

The fair also offers delicious food, cultural shows, and mini-concerts. The Community Development Department, the organizer of the fair, expects that at least 100,000 people will visit the SUPPORT and OTOP Fair 2024, generating at least 600 million baht, which will help strengthen the local economy and stimulate the country’s overall economy.
