Samui Island Welcomes All Visitors to Its Grand Food Festival

Ko Samui, or Samui Island, in the southern province of Surat Thani, is preparing to welcome all visitors to its grand food festival, known as “Samui Food Fiesta,” to be held on 21-22 September 2024.

President of the Ko Samui Tourism Promotion Association Ratchaporn Poolsawadee said that the festival would take place in the area opposite Phru Chaweng, Bo Phut Subdistrict, Ko Samui District, from 17.00 to 22.00 hr.

It will gather 72 restaurants and food shops from across the island to give visitors a chance to experience the local culinary delights, which have been boosted at the global level. The event will make local culture and the way of life in Surat Thani better known, in addition to promoting local tourism and stimulating the local economy.

The Samui Food Fiesta also includes several programs, such as a food exhibition, cooking classes, a campaign for waste management and environmental conservation, and cultural performances.

Located in the Gulf of Thailand, Ko Samui is the third-largest island in Thailand, after Ko Phuket in Phuket Province and Ko Chang in Trat Province. Samui is now one of Thailand’s most visited destinations. It has great potential for further growth and also boasts several cultural destinations, as well as gastronomy tourism, which should be made better known among prospective visitors.

Like Phuket, Samui combines natural beauty with an exceptionally good standard of hotels, spas, and other tourism facilities. Recognized as a “south sea paradise,” Ko Samui is sunny and popular among international tourists.
