Professor Dr. Caroline Susan Elizabeth Homer, from the Commonwealth of Australia, has been selected as the recipient of the Princess Srinagarindra Award for 2024, according to a report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The selection was made at the meeting of the Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation Committee on 13 September 2024, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions in the fields of nursing and midwifery, which have garnered both national and international acclaim, Professor Dr. Homer is a leader in maternal and infant health research, with her work influencing policies and practices on midwifery in numerous countries. Her research has significantly benefited the health and well-being of mothers, infants, and children worldwide.
The Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation under Royal Patronage was established on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, on 21 October 2000.
The purpose of the foundation is to recognize exceptional nursing and/or midwifery professionals from around the world whose contributions are acknowledged both nationally and internationally.
The presentation ceremony of the Princess Srinagarindra Award for 2024 will be held on 10 October 2024, at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
