Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul gave a briefing on the Ministry of Interior’s five major policies on 16 October 2024, when he chaired a meeting of executives of the ministry for the 2025 fiscal year.
The five policies include (1) social order and suppression of influential persons, (2) anti-narcotic drugs, (3) employment generation to increase income for the people, (4) community tourism promotion, and (5) provision of sufficient clean water services for the people.
Mr. Anutin said that these five key policies would enable the Ministry of Interior to achieve its goals of easing people’ s suffering and making them happy. The policies also aim to improve the people’s living conditions. Toward this aim, provincial governors will play an important role, and they must work actively, caring for the people’s well-being.
He also urged provincial governors and other officials to continue to implement 11 policies given to them previously. The 11 policies seek to (1) develop the people’s quality of life and income generation, (2) provide people with greater access to free clean water and reduce their expenses, (3) reduce expenses of electricity and fuel oil at all government offices, (4) promote the use of clean energy, (5) arrange social order and suppress influential persons, (6) provide people with “One-Stop Service,” (7) facilitate the travel of tourists and ensure their safety, (8) promote the local economy, production, and marketing, (9) tackle narcotic drugs, (10) support and develop primary health care and prepare to cope with the aging society, and (11) promote clean air.
Mr. Anutin said that an assessment of the performance of all organizations under the Ministry of Interior would be made every three months, so that they would be able to develop their work on a continual basis and have opportunities to rectify any shortcomings.
