Government Launches Tourism Campaign Introducing 72 Travel Routes across Thailand

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has launched a new campaign introducing 72 travel routes across Thailand in order to stimulate tourism in the final months of 2024.

The travel routes offer unique destinations and cultural experiences in “72 styles” under the concept of “5 Must Do in Thailand,” which includes (1) Must Taste – Thai food, (2) Must Try – Muay Thai, (3) Must Buy – Thai fashion and local products, (4) Must Seek –  new destinations and new travel experiences, and (5) Must See – Thai festivals.

In the campaign, five prominent Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) from various fields will be invited to join the creation of “Travel Vlog” to present five travel routes in their own styles. The campaign will continue until 2025, which was announced as the “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year.”

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) aims to highlight “Thai Charms” and “Hidden Gem Cities” as major selling points to attract both Thai and international travelers. It has set a target of no less than a 7.5 percent increase in tourism revenue for 2025, or 1.7 times higher than Thailand’s GDP growth forecast for the year. Moreover, it is expected that 39 million international tourists will visit Thailand in 2025.

Minister of Tourism and Sports Sorawong Thienthong welcomed travelers from around the globe to Thailand, which offers world-class festivities and privileges. He said that the Government is enhancing infrastructure, easing visa processes, and fostering a seamless ASEAN travel network through the “Six Countries, One Destination” policy.

Thailand has been named the 2025 Destination of the Year by US travel magazine Travel + Leisure, for its cultural richness, breathtaking natural beauty, and superb cuisine. This recognition joins numerous awards and accolades Thailand has garnered over the years, celebrating the nation’s appeal and commitment to offering an exceptional travel experience.
