The Government is determined to wipe out cybercrime through tough measures and new technology, and it believes that the problem of cyber scams will be eased in 2025.
Government Spokesperson Jirayu Houngsub said that cyber security programs have been installed to suppress and prevent cyber scams, which have caused huge damage to people in Southeast Asia and beyond. The programs are in response to the Government’s policy to reduce all crimes and build public confidence in cyber security.
For instance, the Royal Thai Police have launched the “Thailand Tourist Police” application, offering innovative features designed to provide travelers with instant assistance and vital information. The application is free to download via iOS, Android, and Huawei. Thailand’s Tourist Police Hotline (1155) also operates around the clock, providing multilingual assistance for emergencies or inquiries. The “Cyber Check” application has also been installed that helps scan devices and alert citizens to protect them from fraudsters.
