Official Launch of Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on 3 February 2025 presided over the official launch of the campaign “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025,” a year-long initiative reinforcing Thailand’s status as a world-class destination for tourism and sports.

The launching ceremony took place at the One Bangkok shopping mall, with the participation of ministers, senior officials, provincial governors, representatives of the private sector, and members of the diplomatic corps.

The Prime Minister cited 2025 as the year of good opportunities for everyone and every province. She urged provincial governors to develop tourism destinations in their respective areas in order to attract visitors all year round. The Government is ready to provide support to enhance the tourism potential of various provinces.

The Prime Minister stated that tourism is seen as a major economic tool and that Thailand’s “soft power” is a strength to help develop tourism on a full-cycle basis. She also stressed the need to create man-made tourism products in order to make the country’s tourism more attractive.

As part of the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the Amazing Thailand Romance Month, a special campaign designed to make February, the month of love, an unforgettable experience for couples visiting Thailand.

As Thailand’s marriage equality law came into effect recently, TAT hopes to attract couples and LGBTQ+ travelers to immerse themselves in the romance and charm of Thailand. The special campaign will reinforce Thailand’s reputation as a leading LGBTQ+ friendly destination, welcoming travelers from all walks of life with warmth and inclusivity.

From 1 to 16 February 2025, international visitors arriving in pairs can enjoy exclusive privileges and win special prizes at four major international airports across the country, namely Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. Other tourism privileges will also be offered at participating department stores after 16 February.

TAT stated that Thailand is recognized as one of the world’s most sought-after destinations for romantic getaways, honeymoons, and weddings, and that it offers couples breathtaking beaches, luxury resorts, and impressive cultural experiences.
