The Cabinet has acknowledged the setting of wage rates according to skill standards in 13 fields at between 485 and 800 baht a day, so that skilled workers will receive suitable wages based on their professional skills.
The decision was made on 20 May following an announcement by the Wage Committee on wage rates according to skill standards (No. 14) dated 9 April 2025. The new wage rates will be effective 90 days after the date of announcement in the Royal Gazette, as proposed by the Ministry of Labor.
The wage rates according to skill standards in 13 fields are as follows:
1. Public tourist bus driver (tour bus), level 1, 600 baht a day;
2. Electric vehicle maintenance technician, level 2, 600 baht a day;
3. Crawler crane operator, level 1, 620 baht a day;
4. Rubber-tired crane operator, level 1, 620 baht a day;
5. Truck crane operator. level 1, 560 baht a day;
6. Truck driver, level 1, 485 baht a day;
7. Clean room air conditioning technician, level 1, 720 baht and level 2, 800 baht a day;
8. Electronics technician, level 1, 500 baht a day;
9. Electrician for the conference, incentive, and exhibition Industry, level 2, 600 baht a day;
10. Computer programmer (C language), level 1, 700 baht a day;
11. Computer network administrator, level 2, 770 baht a day;
12. Industrial robot operator, level 1, 605 baht a day;
13. Muay Thai trainer, level 1, 565 baht a day.
The Ministry of Labor stated that the adjustment of standard skill wages would encourage workers to develop their skills, guarantee their income, and enhance business competitiveness.
Meanwhile, the ministry is preparing to hold the event “Job Expo Thailand 2025” on 6-8 June 2025, from 10.00 to 19.00 hr, in 5-6 halls, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. More than 500,000 jobs in the country and 100,000 jobs in foreign countries will be offered. In this event, the Ministry of Labor will also join hands with the Social Security Office in offering credit to increase liquidity for employers.
