The Cabinet, during its meeting on 24 June 2025, approved a fund of about 115.3 billion baht to stimulate Thailand’s economy, comprising 481 projects to be carried out by 50 government agencies.
The economic stimulus package focuses on four major areas, aiming for short-term economic stimulation with long-term benefits.
The first area involves water and transport infrastructure development, comprising 34 projects worth 85 billion baht. Among the water infrastructure projects are (1) the development of water for consumption, (2) the upgrading of the existing water sources and the improvement of water distribution systems, (3) the development of rainfed agriculture areas, (4) the development of flood retention areas, and (5) flood prevention in urban communities. In terms of transport infrastructure, it includes projects to improve road networks, enhance travel safety, and ease traffic congestion.
In the second area, 420 projects will be carried out with a budget of 10 billion baht. These projects aim to improve tourism attractions, sports stadiums, and other facilities; install more CCTVs in major tourist cities; and stimulate the local economy in the tourism sector, especially in lesser-known tourism cities.
The third area involves a budget of 11.1 billion baht to carry out 10 projects, aimed at reducing impacts from exports, increasing productivity, and developing digital infrastructure. The budget will support agriculture, labor, and digital projects.
The fourth area involves community economy, with 17 projects worth 9.2 billion baht to develop the National Village and Urban Community Fund, human capital development in education, and the local economy and others.
The Government expects that all of these projects will generate employment and income for the people and increase the country’s economic growth by 0.4 percent.
