Bangkok Recognized as One of the World’s Best Destinations

Bangkok is recognized as the world’s best digital nomad destination for 2025, according to a ranking compiled by the hotel-finding website HotelWithTub. It also ranks as the third-best city in Asia in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2025.

A survey conducted by www.HotelWithTub.com named Bangkok the number one destination out of 100 top destinations worldwide. The ranking is based on data from over 1,300 cities globally, taking such major factors as cost of living, quality of life, safety, and social media popularity into consideration.

Bangkok received a score of 91 out of 100, and a high satisfaction rating of 4.55 out of 5, emerging as the favorite destination for digital nomads. The strength of Bangkok is its all-around charm, not to mention its affordable cost of living, convenient transportation, reliable internet connections, vibrant culture, and numerous co-working spaces.

The survey also reports that the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima comes fifth among the best digital nomad destinations, with a score of 80 out of 100.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Sasikarn Watthanachan declared that the Government is striving to further develop the country’s infrastructure, technology, and the people’s quality of life in order to move Thailand toward becoming a global hub, offering attractive opportunities for work, investment, and happy living. 

Ms. Sasikarn also said that the northern province of Chiang Mai has been named the No. 1 City in Asia in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2025, with Bangkok ranking third after Tokyo.

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Chiang Mai topped Asia’s 15 Best Cities list with a reader score of 91.94, earning praise for its “super cordial people and amazing food.” Travelers highlighted the city’s ancient temples, such as Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, its lively night markets, and its mountain scenery. Chiang Mai’s elephant sanctuaries, also drew significant attention from global tourists.

Chiang Mai’s dominance in Asia is underscored by its strong global standing, ranking No. 2 in the World’s Top 25 Cities. Bangkok also received high honors, ranking No. 3 in Asia and No. 4 globally, with a reader score of 91.34.
