Government’s Co-Payment Scheme Receives Positive Response from the Public

The Government’s co-payment scheme “Khon La Khrueng Plus,” or “Let’s Go Halves Plus,” also known as the “half-half plus co-payment” program, has received a very positive response from the public.

Government Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat said that spending under the scheme reached 3,181,265,353 baht as of 30 October at 17.00 hr, through 728,092 participating vendors. Out of this amount, 1,575,868,956 baht was spent by the people.

Participants in the scheme were allowed to start spending on 29 October between 06.00 hr and 23.00 hr. The spending will continue until 31 December 2025.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said that the co-payment scheme aims to ease living costs, encourage spending, and bring more people into the formal economy. It is not only just about boosting domestic consumption, but it also promotes digital inclusion.

The program allows registered individuals who buy goods from local shops to pay only half the price of their purchases, with the Government subsidizing the other half, through the G-Wallet system, comprising the “Pao Tang” app for buyers and “Thung Ngoen” app for traders.

The registration quota of 20 million participants had been filled. Out of the number of participants, taxpayers will receive 2,400 baht, with a daily spending cap of 200 baht, while non-taxpayers will receive 2,000 baht, with a daily spending cap of 200 baht.
