Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Supamas Isarabhakdi has instructed the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT), under the Government Public Relations Department (PRD), and MCOT Public Company to adjust their programming and provide real-time coverage of the flood situation in southern Thailand.
The instruction was given on 25 November 2025, aimed at providing the public with accurate and timely information and reducing confusion during the flood crisis.
Since 24 November, NBT2HD has suspended its regular broadcasts and launched a special program "Southern Flood Watch" providing updates from 17.00 hr until midnight daily. The program has also been on air through Radio Thailand stations across the country and all PRD online platforms, such as Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, NBT Connext, and provincial PR pages, especially Songkhla FM 90.5 MHz, which serves as the major information source in the South.
As for MCOT, it has connected signals with the special program of NBT and expanded flood-related coverage in its morning, midday, and evening news programs, while instructing all its 10 southern radio networks to monitor the flood situation and provide updates to the public on a continual basis.
Minister Supamas said that the Government would use the potential of state media agencies, both PRD and MCOT, so that the public would receive accurate, clear, and timely information. She urged the people to follow up on news and information disseminated by the state media.
The Government would also accelerate all measures to reduce impact and losses and to improve public safety. It is giving the first priority to helping people in all risk areas, as well. Minister Supamas added that Their Majesties the King and Queen and all members of the Royal Family have expressed their concerns for the affected people and have also offered assistance, as well as establishing mobile kitchens to cook fresh food for the flood victims.
