National Health Security Office Offers Assistance for Flood-Affected People

The National Health Security Office (NHSO) has offered assistance for people affected by the flood situation in southern provinces, especially in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, and the central region of the country.

People in need of assistance may call the NHSO Hotline 1330, press 7, toll-free, 24 hours a day. The following information on flood-related issues will be provided:

- Evacuation or transport for bedridden patients or other vulnerable groups;

- Patients unable to reach a hospital due to flooding or blocked roads;

- Shortage of medicines, food, or essential health supplies;

- Coordination with hospitals or local agencies for continued care.

NHSO is ready to provide affected people with (1) 600 phone lines to handle high call volumes and reduce long waiting times, (2) a team of 40 professional nurses, working with call center staff to assess and advise on care, and (3) case-by-case support, especially for complex cases such as bedridden patients or emergency cases.

They will not just be “answering calls,” but following up and coordinating until help is successfully provided, according to NHSO.

NHSO will also coordinate with relevant agencies and organizations to ensure that the people in need receive assistance as quickly as possible.
