Opening of Media Center for the 2025 ASEAN Para Games Hosted by Thailand in Nakhon Ratchasima

Thailand is hosting the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima from 20 to 26 January 2026. The Main Press Center (MPC) for the 2025 ASEAN Para Games was officially opened on 17 January 2026 at the Convention Center of the Paralympic Association of Thailand, located at His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium (5th December 2007), known in short as the “80th Birthday Stadium,” in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) Gongsak Yodmani presided over the opening ceremony of the MPC for the ASEAN Para Games, the 13th of its kind. He stressed the importance of the MPC for efficient management and distribution of competition information. Real-time data connectivity would allow members of Thai and international media to provide accurate, timely coverage.

The SAT Governor believed that operations of the center would increase public awareness and encourage the participation of the people, especially the younger generation, while reflecting Thailand’s strong capabilities to host international para-sport events and its potential to promote sports through sports development for excellence on a sustainable basis.

Mr. Banlank Waisiri, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, emphasized the province’s readiness to host the 13th ASEAN Para Games and its commitment to supporting the media. He noted that the MPC would serve as a central hub for news, competition statistics, and services for media representatives from all 10 ASEAN member countries, ensuring fast and accurate reporting of updates and results.

Apart from the MPC, eight Sub Press Centers (SPC) have also been established at competition venues, covering all sports disciplines, including the 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium (Athletics), Chatchai Hall (Boccia), Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (Chess), Vongchavalitkul University (Goalball), Esplanade Ratchada Shopping Mall (Bowling), Central Korat (Table Tennis), Terminal 21 Korat (Basketball), and The Mall Korat (Wheelchair Fencing).

The 13th ASEAN Para Games feature 19 sports and two demonstration sports, with 493 gold medals to be awarded. Live broadcasts will be available on NBT, T Sports 7, PPTV 36, and TrueVisions Now.
