Nakhon Ratchasima Province, as host of the 13th ASEAN Para Games, has been commended by ASEAN countries for its hospitality and excellent arrangements for the 13th ASEAN Para Games, taking place in the province from 20 to 26 January 2026.
Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) Gongsak Yodmani stated that he had the opportunity to speak with international athletes, officials, and media members about their impressions and suggestions for the 13th ASEAN Para Games. It was found that the overall feedback was excellent. Everyone expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome by the Thai people and Nakhon Ratchasima, which had facilitated their operations very well.
The SAT Governor said that Nakhon Ratchasima had demonstrated its readiness for important sports events, especially when it came to sports for people with disabilities. Besides having consistent experiences in hosting sports events, the province also has equipment and stadiums that meet high world-class standards.
For instance, the best competition stadium for wheelchair racing in Thailand is located in Nakhon Ratchasima. It is considered the only place in Thailand where the wheelchair racing track meets the same standards as those in the Paralympic Games.
Therefore, the potential to build upon this by holding various sports events in Nakhon Ratchasima in the future is highly probable. The SAT will hold discussions with relevant parties on the possibilities of Nakhon Ratchasima hosting further world-class sports events, both para-sports and others.
The SAT Governor also said that, normally, Nakhon Ratchasima is already a venue for organizing major international sports, such as volleyball and futsal, and that both the public and private sectors, as well as local residents have a very good response to the organizing of sports events.
Locally known as Korat, or Khorat, Nakhon Ratchasima is located about 260 kilometers northeast of Bangkok. It serves as a gateway to the northeastern region, and has fascinating traditions, charming hospitality, beautiful natural scenery, and rich biodiversity.
