Nan Province invites members of the public to attend stunning light and sound performances on 3-4 February 2026 in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the occasion of Her Royal Highness’s visit to Nan.
The grand light and sound performances include colorful fireworks and drone displays, which will make history in this “living old city” of Nan.
The top-grade fireworks imported from Japan feature massive 12-inch aerial shells, over 4,000 in number. The show will be a magnificent, spectacular event, which is rare to see in Thailand.
On 3 February, the light and sound performances will take place between 19.40 and 20.00 hr, under the theme “The Legacy of Light – Light for Humanity.” They will present the work of Her Royal Highness in carrying on royal activities in medicine and public health for the benefit of mankind. The location recommended for watching these performances is at Nong Nam Khrok, Muang Tit Subdistrict, Phu Phiang District.
On 4 February, the performances will take place between 19.20 and 19.35 hr, under the theme “The Symphony of Nan – A Journey of Light, Soul, and Legacy.” They will portray the charms of Nan through its cherished culture, natural beauty, and Lanna lanterns in the night sky. The best place to watch these performances is also at Nong Nam Khrok, Muang Tit Subdistrict, Phu Phiang District.
Located 668 kilometers from Bangkok, Nan is a quiet and tranquil province. This small and prosperous town was established in the 13th century, the same period that Sukhothai was established. It is also famous for hand-woven textiles, basketry, and mural paintings.
In its vision, Nan is striving to become the city of happiness and creativity. The province was designated as a Creative City in the field of Crafts and Folk Art by UNESCO in 2025.
