More than 18,000 people are expected to participate in the large-scale event “Amazing MuayThai Festival 2026,” to be held at the Rajabhakti Park in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, from 4 to 7 February 2026.
The festival is organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, in cooperation with Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, the Royal Thai Army, the Sports Authority of Thailand, the Ministry of Culture, the Government Public Relations Department, Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University, and the World Boxing Council Muay Thai. It is an activity under the project “World Wai Khru Muay Thai Ceremony,” held annually to allow Muay Thai boxers from Thailand and around the world to pay respect to their teachers and to give visitors a chance to celebrate and learn about this Thai martial art.
Apart from elevating international standards for Muay Thai and bringing it to the global stage, the festival also aims to stimulate Thailand’s sports tourism. It is likely to generate over 214 million baht in the economic system during the four-day period.
The theme for the Amazing MuayThai Festival 2026 is "Ultimate Muay Thai Experience.” Major activities include Muay Thai competitions, demonstrations, and exhibitions, a bazaar of local products, a food fair, cultural performances, and Thai games relating to Muay Thai.
A key highlight of this event takes place on 6 February, which is observed as Muay Thai Day in honor of King Sanphet VIII (1703-1708) of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, recognized as the “Father of Muay Thai.” The program includes rituals to pay homage to past kings, a Wai Khru ceremony, a light and sound performance, and a spectacular fireworks display. Participants in this event will also join a ceremony to pay tribute to the late Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, who was revered for her dedication to the well-being of the people.
Muay Thai, or Thai-style boxing, is both a martial art and a national sport of Thailand. There are over 5,000 Muay Thai camps and gyms across the country. They have great potential to accommodate a large number of international tourists interested in this martial art.
In order to give a major boost to Muay Thai, Thailand has granted a 90-day non-immigrant visa for foreigners who want to visit Thailand to learn and practice Thai-style boxing. This visa allows foreigners to stay longer in Thailand to attend and complete their Muay Thai courses.
