Prime Minister Cites Thailand’s Role as Trusted Partner in Regional and Global Commerce

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul stated that the Thai government remains firmly committed to supporting entrepreneurs, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises. It would also continue to promote trade, strengthen capabilities, diversify markets, and deepen economic partnerships to ensure that Thai businesses remain competitive and resilient in an increasingly complex global economy.

The Prime Minister on 11 March 2026 presided over the opening ceremony of THAIFEX – HOREC ASIA 2026, a major trade exhibition for hotels, restaurants, and catering services. The event is being held at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province, on 11-13 March.

In his opening remarks at this event, Prime Minister Anutin pointed out that THAIFEX – HOREC ASIA is more than a trade exhibition. It is a strategic platform that strengthens supply chain connectivity, expands market opportunities, and reinforces Thailand’s role as a trusted partner in regional and global commerce.

This event serves as an important platform reflecting Thailand’s strength as a regional hub for the HoReCa industry and as a gateway connecting ASEAN with global markets. Shifts in trade policies, geopolitical tensions, rising energy costs, and disruptions to global supply chains are affecting industries worldwide, including the travel and tourism sectors. In such circumstances, resilience, adaptability, and cooperation have become essential foundations for sustainable growth.

He said that the continued success of THAIFEX - HOREC ASIA demonstrates Thailand’s readiness to navigate these challenges with confidence. Its rich culture represents a powerful economic asset. These strengths enable the country to create value not only through tourism, but also through exports, franchising, professional services, and global partnerships across the HoReCa ecosystem.

THAIFEX – HOREC ASIA 2026 is larger and more dynamic than ever, welcoming nearly 700 companies from 35 countries. It showcases a comprehensive range of products, services, and innovations across the hospitality and food service value chain. This event is held annually every March, through the partnership between the Department of International Trade Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Koelnmesse of Germany.

Apart from opening THAIFEX – HOREC ASIA 2026, the Prime Minister also presented the "Thailand’s Best Friend 2026" awards to distinguished international trade partners.
