Ensuring Good Care for Tourists Affected by Middle East Conflict and Stranded in Thailand

The Government, through the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, has worked closely together with various agencies to ensure that assistance and care would continue to be provided for international tourists affected by the Middle East conflict and stranded in Thailand.

Statistics show that, from 28 February to 10 March 2026, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has provided assistance and facilitation to 4,525 affected foreign tourists through three key mechanisms, as follows:

1. Tourist Assistance Centers (TAC), located at five major airports, namely, Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Krabi, which have provided assistance and facilitation to a total of 2,833 tourists;

2. Tourism Crisis Monitoring Center, through the 1672 hotline, has provided assistance and facilitation to 918 tourists.

3. Provincial Offices of Tourism and Sports in 32 provinces across the country have provided assistance and facilitation to 774 tourists.

The ministry has also set five guidelines to ensure effective coordination and efficient facilitation for tourists, as follows:

1. Accommodation: Coordinating with accommodation operators to arrange rooms at special rates for tourists. A total of 74 accommodations in nine provinces have so far joined this initiative;

2. Facilitation: Increasing the number of TAC officers at the five airports to closely provide information services to travelers;

3. Information: Disseminating accurate information from reliable official sources to reduce confusion and build confidence among tourists;

4. Immediate Problem-Solving: Coordinating with relevant agencies, such as embassies, immigration offices, and airlines, to quickly solve problems faced by each tourist;

5. Integrated Cooperation: Coordinating joint operations with both the public and private sectors to ensure that facilitation for tourists is efficient and covers all dimensions.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Aiyarin Phanrit reaffirmed the Government’s readiness and potential for taking care of tourists to ensure their safety. Thailand is also elevating its crisis management standards to boost tourist confidence and leave a lasting impression on international visitors throughout their journey and stay in Thailand.

In this regard, she said, officials have been instructed to continue to closely monitor the situation and provide good care for tourists.
