Five destinations in Thailand have been named among the “World’s Greatest Places 2026” by TIME magazine, which announced a list of 100 standout destinations on 12 March 2026.

Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Thapanee Kiatphaibool stated that the selections for Thailand this year focused on “experience-based” tourism, showcasing the country’s diversity, ranging from world-class accommodations to art and culture and community-based travel.  

The following five destinations in the “Thailand Entries” are included on the list of the World’s Greatest Places 2026.

1. DaiDib DaiDee: A rural small farm stay in Pua District, Nan Province, highlighting agricultural life integrated with nature and offering Thai-style pizzas with local ingredients;

2. Mandarin Oriental Bangkok: A premier heritage hotel, which marks its 150th anniversary this year;

3. The Blue Jasmine Train: A premium rail travel experience, offering a nine-day journey within Thailand and off-train activities;

4. Khao Yai Art Forest: A contemporary artistic experience highlighting nature, near Khao Yai National Park;

5. Dib Bangkok: A rising contemporary art scene in the capital city, highlighting the city’s growing cultural, art, and modern tourism experiences.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Sports Natthriya Thaweevong stated that a survey on the Trip.com platform showed that Thailand remained a popular destination among international tourists, ranking it highly for 2026. Statistics also show that among the “Global 100 Must-Visit Destinations,” Thailand accounts for 33 percent of the Southeast Asian region.

Recognized as a top regional tourist hub, with data from 2026 showing that it captures 57 percent of the Family-Friendly Destination category, Thailand is ranked among the best destinations for beaches and islands, as well.
